Long Mountain Nursery is located in the foothills
of the Blue Ridge Mountains 60 miles southwest of
Washington, DC, just three miles from historic
Washington, VA. We typically have 300 azalea, 50
hosta, and 50 daylily varieties in stock. We hope
you enjoy the hundreds of photos on our website.
Our family-owned and operated nursery propagates nearly
all our own material. We grow azaleas in 3-gallon
containers (or larger depending on plant size) and
price them by the size of the plant (not the pot),
normally from 10 inches across to more than two feet.
Choose varieties from dwarf ground-huggers to fast,
upright growing varieties and select from virtually
all colors of the rainbow - get the plants that meet
your needs and your budget.
We grow hosta and daylilies in larger containers than
most nurseries. We think you will find our plants both
impressively large and moderately priced.
Although we sell predominantely to garden centers and
landscapers, we are open to the general public (weekends
only) between the third week in April and the middle
of May, coinciding with peak azalea bloom. We reopen
on select weekends in late June and early July during
daylily bloom. Although you are welcome to visit
at other times, please call ahead (540-675-3707) to
arrange those visits.
We are not set up to accept credit cards, so cash
or checks only, please.
To get the latest information on our hours, sign up
for our online newsletter.
The left hand menu is the portal to hundreds of bloom
photos, plant inventories, articles, past newsletters,
and much more. We hope you enjoy your virtual visit and
that you will pay us an actual visit one day.
One final note, plant availability varies on a daily
basis. We enter our website inventory manually
(and infrequently), so please call ahead if you are
looking for specific varieties.
